DC and Warner Bros. Need to Release Official Photos Quicker

DC and Warner Bros are not sitting pretty with fans right now. Some set photos have been released for Titans and they have caused an uproar. Raven looks ok in my opinion (not perfect, but not awful), Beast Boy just looks like a random kid who died the tips of his hair green, and let’s face it, Starfire did not look good at all. Many fans are yelling at how Beast Boy and Starfire are not their iconic colors of green and orange, plus, Starfire’s costume makes her look like a lady of the night from the 1980’s. Not only does this piss fans off, it makes them not want to watch the show, which means DC and WB won’t be making money.

Titans is, sadly, not an outlier though. Take a look at comments on the set photos from Shazam! and you’ll see that many fans don’t like how the superhero’s suit is bright red and cartoonishly padded. Zach Levi even made a video to say he liked the costume. Now, I believe that Levi will look amazing after they’ve finished editing. I’m also hopeful that Beast Boy and Starfire will actually look decent after editing. I recognize that set photos are not the best photos taken and we didn’t get a great look at Raven’s and Starfire’s costumes. However, why do we not have official pictures of these? I can sort of understand with Shazam! since that’s not due for about a year, but wouldn’t it be worth it to have an official image of Levi in costume to show what it will look like after editing? I don’t know what their excuse is for the Titans characters though since we’ve gotten awesome pictures of Robin and of Hawk and Dove. I understand that you’re probably saving that promotional material for when they get closer to releasing the show and the film, but when you’re getting this strong of backlash, maybe you need to show fans that it won’t be as bad as it looks.

I’m holding out hope for both of these projects. Please don’t let the fans down, DC. Give us something to show us that things will be ok.

Shazam! is due to release April 5, 2019, and Titans is set to premiere on DC's streaming service later in 2018.
